With more than 30 years experience working in Water and Environmental Services, DrCat Shrier founded WaterCitizen in 2012 as an online water media, education, and "WaterTainment(TM)" events organization. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization incorporated in California, moving to DC shortly before the Pandemic (a registered "foreign entity" in Washington, DC).
Combining skills in water and environmental planning & policy (including development, promotion, production and facilitation of convenings) with transformational, interactive, experiential learning workshop development and implementation, we provide unique experiences with both virtual and in-person programs and events.
We serve Water Professionals, Entrepreneurs, Civil Leaders and other "people passionate about water" who want access to water knowledge and connections and opportunities for leadership development. We are active in both Water Entrepreneurship (see WaterPitch.org) and Water Workforce Development - including later stage Water Professionals seking Opportunities for Career Changes and Re-Entry Following a Career Break

Opened in June 2022, the Reservoir Center for Water Solutions (Reservoir Center) is a consortium of water sector non-profits committed to collaborate as thought leaders to solve global water issues. Our aim is to develop breakthrough ideas and solutions, eliminate barriers, and advance the water sector’s work to overcome critical water and sustainability challenges. The Reservoir Center is located along the banks of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC’s Navy Yard, and provides event, work and meeting space.
GETTING HERE:GET
Visitors should enter the ground floor lobby via the main entrance at 301 Water St. From the lobby, the second floor can be reached via stairs or elevator, where our receptionist can assist you with navigating the building.
By DC Metro: take the green line to Navy Yard Metro station. Follow signs for Department of Transportation. From the M St. exit it is an 8-minute walk to the Reservoir Center. For more information on using DC Metro check out WMATA Trip Planner.
By bike: there are three Capital bikeshares close to the facility, located at 3rd & Tingley St. SE, 4th & M St SE, and 1st & N St SE.
By car: there are three parking lots to choose from. The Yards Lot Q at 425 Tingey St SE (one block away), SP+ Parking at 1275 New Jersey Ave SE, and Colonial Parking at 300 M St SE.
