With Congressional Briefing!
(A.K.A. WaterPitch! The WaterPreneurSHIP Experience)
Come for Pitch Practice and Presentation Coaching as well as to prepare for the Congressional Briefing. We have a small conference room and 2 hotspot mini-offices reserved. There are also ample soundproof booths for phone calls and various arears for co-working.
GETTING HERE: Visitors should enter the ground floor lobby via the main entrance at 301 Water St SE, Washington, DC 20003. From the lobby, the second floor can be reached via stairs or elevator, where our receptionist can assist you with navigating the building.
By DC Metro: take the green line to Navy Yard Metro station. Follow signs for Department of Transportation. From the M St. exit it is an 8-minute walk to the Reservoir Center. For more information on using DC Metro check out WMATA Trip Planner.
By bike: there are three Capital bikeshares close to the facility, located at 3rd & Tingley St. SE, 4th & M St SE, and 1st & N St SE.
By car: there are three parking lots to choose from. The Yards Lot Q at 425 Tingey St SE (one block away), SP+ Parking at 1275 New Jersey Ave SE, and Colonial Parking at 300 M St SE.
For this WaterPitch! Water Startup Matching Extravaganza, we are excited to be hosted by the DC Water at the State-of-the-Art "Waterside Events" Conference Facilities in their Lead Platinum Headquarters A.K.A. "HQO"!
Presenters will present in the HQO Board Room, with space to talk in the atrium plus side rooms available for Clinics, Media, and Meetings to seal the deal!
HQO sits on the banks of the recently restored Anacostia River, between Nationals Ballpark and the new Capital Waterfront Park. DC Water's new administrative headquarters for DC Water sits atop the existing O Street Pump Station, adjacent to the historic Main Pump Station, and above massive clay sewer lines that date back more than 100 years.
This new headquarters embraces the future in sustainable design and construction. Heat from the pumping station’s wastewater treatment operations help condition the new building; a 30,000-gallon cistern captures rainwater for reuse onsite; and tinted glass sun shades reduce energy use while maximizing daylighting and the panoramic river views.
Walk a block up to New Jersey and you have a clear view of the Capitol Building (where we'll head Thursday Morning for our Briefing). On the Navy Yard Metro and close to Capitol Hill, HQO is easily accessible and an ideal venue for Water Innovators!
2 blocks from the Navy Yard/Ballpark Metro!
Transportation
Located on the beautifully-restored Anacostia River in Navy Yard and across the street from Nationals Park, HQO Events Center's street address is 1385 Canal St SE. The entrance is at the intersection of N Street and New Jersey Avenue, SE (Tingey Square).
We encourage Metro OR ride-share.
